    Instructor Training

    Mendip's pioneering Instructor Training Scheme has been running for over 20 years and is by far the best way into a career in the outdoor industry.

    All of our senior instructional team, most of our management team and even our Managing Director started their careers with Mendip through our Instructor Training Scheme.

    PART TIME

    Bar and Catering Team Member

    Contract type: Casual

    Responsibilities

    Mendip is an expanding dynamic business. Recent increases in work load have led to the need for an extra member of staff to work within our team.
    The role will involve working with our catering team and covering a range of responsibilities. A suitable candidate will be quick to learn how our business operates and the procedures we follow. The right person will manage their time efficiently; good organisational skills are essential. The job requires a polite courteous approach to all communication.

    The position is for Saturday and/or Sunday work, further shifts may be available, especially in peak times including school holidays.

    Benefits of the role include free recreational skiing/snowboarding, the chance to try all of our activities for free and a generous discount in our Alpine Lounge Cafe.

    Key roles will include:

    - Serving customers hot and cold drinks.
    - Taking food orders
    - Preparing and serving some food items
    - Taking cash and credit card payments

    Essential

    - Good communication skills
    - Confident speaking to clients face to face and on the phone
    - Over or close to 18 years of age (required to serve some drinks)

    Description

    Mendip is an expanding, dynamic business that is looking for its newest team member.
    You will be required to run snowsport activities for a range of clients at our 165m dry slope. You will need to have a passion for delivering exceptional activity sessions, be able to work independently and work as part of a team.

    Other benefits include free outdoor activity sessions, free recreational skiing/snowboarding and a generous annual training budget.

    Essential Qualifications

    - Valid Ski qualification, equivalent to or above, Snowsport England Level 1


    Desirable Qualifications

    - Snowboard qualification
    - Race coach qualification
    - Strong communication skills
    - Good presentation skills
    - Work well under pressure whilst remaining prompt and professional
    - Experience working in the outdoor industry

    Handy Man

    Rare opportunity to join our small, but very practical, estate team full time!

    FULL TIME HANDY MAN POSITION

    - Salary: National living wage with opportunity for increase based on experience/ performance
    - 40 hours per week
    - Shift pattern to include working some weekends

    DESCRIPTION

    No two days will ever be the same working in our estate team. Help look after our 250 acre outdoor activity site and dry ski slope. Mendip is one of the largest outdoor activity providers in the South West and are constantly growing, evolving and adapting - and our estate team is the backbone to our success. If you love working outside, enjoy everything practical, can turn your hand to anything and relish a challenge - you'll fit right in!

    Key roles will include:

    - General site maintenance
    - Handy man / odd jobs
    - Estate grounds works
    - Cleaning
    - Seasonal projects assembly, maintenance and disassembly
    - Ski slope maintenance and checks (training provided)
    - Basic vehicle maintenance

    Essential skills

    - Practical and hands on
    - Physically fit and able to help lift/move
    - Able to work outside in all elements
    - Logical thinker and problem solver
    - Able to work well as part of a team and independently
    - Driving license

    Desirable skills

    - Previous experience in a similar role
    - An area of expertise (e.g. plumbing, electrics, carpentry, landscaping/gardening or mechanics)
