MEL WINTRIP

Mel joins the team for his second season with the company. He's been working and training with the Mendip Outdoor Pursuits team for over 5 years and has now signed up full time. Mel brings a wealth of mountain and rock climbing experience, a passion he loves to bring out in others. His skills at coaching and facilitating are excellent and he is extremely effective with all our groups.


Mel now plays a key role within our instructor team; he is an experienced mountaineer having lead expeditions in many of the mountainous areas of the UK and the Alps. Mel has many years experience of managing large teams in the corporate world and now plays a role in many of our team building events.

Mel has coaching qualifications in archery, climbing, abseiling and mountaineering and is currently working towards qualifications in caving and kayaking. He has a clean P.C.V. driving licence and a first aid certificate

    "3 day trip to the Isle of Hoy to successfully climb the 425 feet of the sea stack, The Old Man of Hoy. Closely followed by a very near complete traverse of the Cuillin Ridge"

    "There are many, NW Scotland, The Alps and anywhere high,wild and remote."

    "Whatever I am eating at that moment, I love all food"

    "It's all chocolate !!!"
